Dorne's Greater Manchester Marathon

As many of you will remember (due to your very kind donations), i completed the Leeds Half Marathon in May last year and the money raised was donated to The Candlelighters Children's Cancer Charity, which was in memory of Finley Bailey who sadly lost his battle with Leukaemia at 14 months old on 20th March 2012, which happened very suddenly for them all. Finley's dad, Gary, was a next door neighbour of mine as a child for many many years, and although i had not seen Gary for a few years I'll never forget seeing his updated Facebook status to inform us that Finley had sadly passed away in his and Carley's arms that evening.  I was in tears and just had this overwhelming urge to do something for this amazing charity who are based at the Leeds General Infirmary.

Sadly, around 1,500 children are diagnosed with cancer every year.  Candlelighters need to raise £1 million per year to cover all of their commitments - they fund essential staff and medical equipment at the unit, as well as the supply of toys, books and activities for the children to enjoy and take their mind off things whilst they are being treated.  Candlelighters also fund vital research that is needed to find potential cures and treatments for the different types of cancer affecting children.

In order to continue helping The Candlelighters meet their £1 million target for 2014, i have decided to step up the Challange and have entered the Greater Manchester Marathon on 6th April 2014.

Once again, i would be so grateful if you could find it in your heart (and wallet/purse) to donate to this amazing Yorkshire Charity and let's try to help as many children and families as we can.
