Story
I'm running the 2016 Virgin London Marathon on 24th April 2016, raising money for the Royal Marsden Cancer charity.
In April 2015 my world was turned upside down when the youngest of my three daughters, Evie, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and was admitted to the Oak Childrens Centre at the Royal Marsden Hospital for immediate treatment.
We received incredible support from family, friends, the local community, my employers, and in particular the amazing staff at the Marsden, who calmly guided us through what was a terrifying situation.
After intensive treatment Evie completed her final round of chemotherapy in August, is now back at school, and I feel blessed that our family is whole once again.
One of the things that struck me most about the experience was how many friends spoke to me about how cancer has touched their lives - Mums, Dads, Sisters, Nieces, Cousins, etc. currently or recently undergoing treatment, so I am raising money to say thank you, and hope that I can help in a small way support the team at the Marsden continue their incredible work.
