We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Diabetes affects over 350,000 people in the UK alone. But it doesn't just affect those who have it but those around them too. I want to take part in this walk and raise money because i have Type 1 Diabetes and know what it feels like to deal with everyday.
With Type 1, an injection is needed for virtually everything you eat. This means having to get up in the morning and the first thing is working out how much insulin you have to take for the food you are eating. If the wrong amount of insulin is taking it can cause complications. If too much is taken its an immediate problem. But if not enough is taken it can cause complications in the future such as loss of sight and limbs.

This is a major worry for my friends and family around me. But because it is so important to them too they are also taking part in the fund raising. Even the dog is coming for the walk!

With the money you help me raise, research for cures or even just something to make a diabetics life easier can continue. You can help a diabetic have the same opportunities as any other person.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
