Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well, we did it. From our group of 16 riders, 2 completed the full 1008 miles, a fantastic achievement. I cycled a total of 518 miles over the 9 days. More than I planned to but I'm pleased I did. Although the first two days were wet and windy, the weather after that was generally sunny with moderate winds. We were lucky!

Thank you for your support of this great charity.

Best wishes,

Duncan

From June 12 - 20th, I'm part of a Cadbury relay team cycling the 1008 miles from John O' Groats to Lands end to raise money for the GB Paralympic Association. As a minimum we will each be cycling c.30 miles/day over the 9 days it will take to complete the course. My personal aim is to raise at least £1000 for our cause, as well as to increase my personal fitness and to achieve a long held goal.

Although I'm a dedicated mountain biker, I've swallowed my pride and invested in a road bike for the trip. So far, we're still at the 'getting to know you' stage!

I'll update this page as my training progresses. At the monent it's restricted to 30 miles/2 hour rides around the Cotswolds each Sunday. As the nights get lighter my aim is to put in a couple of rides in week too.

If you can make a donation, however small, to this fantastic charity in exchange for my pedal pounding efforts, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you.

Update 6th April - 200 miles completed last week, in 5 x 40 mile stints. The wind was harsh on occasions but it's getting easier!
