WE DID IT! The ESCG 'Running Team' completed the run without the need for medical attention! It was a great day and we all enjoyed it, especially the krenten bollen at the finish line! The atmosphere was brilliant, the crowds were fantastic and that really spurred us all on. Most of us felt that we could have carried on running for at least another 5 meters!

A special thank you to all those hardy supporters who braved the sunshine and came to cheer us on. It was much appreciated!

Linda van Wilgenburg was a founding member of the ESCG ( English Speaking Contact Group) Haarlem.

Linda was warm, friendly, kind and generous and with her great sense of humour was well liked by everyone who knew her.  Linda lived in the Netherlands for many years and having brought up a family here she could always be relied upon to give useful advice to new members.

Although Linda was a good listener she was also a very private person and for many years she suffered with excruciatingly painful bouts of neuralgia. She rarely talked of her pain and bore it with amazing fortitude.

As a mark of respect to Linda and to support others in similiar circumstances a group of us have decided to raise funds for the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association UK . Linda had used neuralgia support groups for advice and encouragement .

Ten of us will run in the Zilveren Kruis Achmea Loop running either 5km or 10km. This event takes place in Haarlem on 27.09.09.
