Story
Following the bike rides of 2008, 2009 and 2010, this year we're carrying on from where we ended up last time, and cycling from Edinburgh to Ballater in Aberdeenshire. The bike ride will be about 200 miles over 4 days, from 31st May to 3rd June, and taking up the challenge will be Jamie Mash of the previous trips, and escaping from suburban Hertfordshire for some fine Scottish scenery, Paul Bartlett and Cameron Scott.
The route takes us from Edinburgh to Ceres on Day 1, up the coast to Montrose on Day 2, to Peterculter on Day 3 where we leave the Coast & Castles North route and join the Deeside Way, then west to Ballater on Day 4, in the heart of Royal Deeside on the The Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend. A dram (or several) of Royal Lochnagar Single Malt Whisky awaits!
We're raising money for the Cleveland Search and Rescue Team, a purely voluntary organisation who are ready to help people at any time of day and night in the North Yorkshire Moors area.
