In 2001 my life turned upside down when my mum lost her battle with breast cancer. She was 47 years old. Charities such as Breakthrough rely on donations to continue to fight this disease and help women and their families all over the UK.

This year I have set myself the ultimate challenge in The Great North Run and decided to represent Breakthrough to raise some money for this extremely worthy charity. Everyone at some point in their life will be touched by illness whether their family, partner or even themselves. This is your chance to make a donation and contribute to the continuing work done by Breakthrough.

To say I am nervous is an understatement, however those of you who know me well will know I have risen to the challenge and will succeed!!
