NABS, the advertising charity have teamed up with the charity 'Habitat for Humanity' to see a team of enthusiastic creative types get stuck in to some manual labour in Kenya. Its a chance for people from the communications industry to spend a week in a developing world country, working together on a project to help a local family build a home.
Basically I will be walking around with a load of bricks on my head.
But I need to raise funds before I go. A minimum of £2250 to be precise...but i'm making a personal target of £2500.
What does this £2250 cover? The project costs are international travel from the UK, accommodation, meals, water, local transfers, excursions, first aid provision, team leadership, insurance and orientation materials. Then £1000 split between both NABS and Habitat for Humanity. And at the end of it all, the villagers will get a lovely house made by our bare hands.
What else am I going to be doing to fundraise? Well, I'm hoping to have a concert in July and i'm going to push myself to do a 10K run so i can raise as much as I can. I will keep you updated... So i would really appreciate any sponsors.
