Thanks for visiting and supporting me on this venture! 

My reason for doing this is firstly to raise money for a charity that has helped many people close to my heart, and I would like to do my part by giving back what I can - and hopefully do this with the support of others around me. 

So why Mount Kilimanjaro? Well I have never been the 'fittest' of people and whilst training for this and accomplishing this challenge will not stand nowhere near to what family and friends have been through I feel that I need to do something to challenge myself and put me through my paces and stay strong and accomplish this, as they have stayed strong throughout their cancer journey. 

As I have to raise a fair amount I am starting early and will not be climbing mount Kilimanjaro until 2016 - however I will keep this updated on the specifics. Meanwhile I will be fundraising in other ways and taking on mini challenges such as the three peaks challenge in preparation.

My First challenge 

My first challenge towards climbing mount Kilimanjaro is to take part in the Reading half marathon on the 22nd of March this consists of 13 miles on a route around Reading. I have been training for this since December - Thank you for your support!

26/02/15 Update!!

Training for the half marathon has been going well however I have unfortunately picked up an IT band injury - the only healing process for this appears to be rest and foam rolling - along with ice. I still intend to complete the half marathon and I still hope to jog as much as possible however at worst I will complete the marathon by walking. Thanks again for all your support.
