Story
The CEO, Luljeta Nuzi, who is an amazing, inspiring, kind and big-hearted person, who created this charity 20 years ago, has worked hard with her team , all these years to make Shpresa a FAMILY for everyone who seeks help. It started with just one small room as an office, but with big dreams and vision for the future.
Today, Shpresa Programme is one of the biggest charities with high reputation , that has won many awards for the contribution to the community, and one of them was the Queens Award from Queen Elizabeth II.
Luljeta has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer and she is going through chemotherapy. But, this hasn’t stopped her to still chase her dream of making Shpresa a HOME for people who need help. She has started this campaign of fundraising, that she will walk 100,000 steps to raise £100,000. And I would love to help her, walk with her, and pray for her to live long and achieve this goal and many more.
Not many of you know that I came to UK when I was only 17, by myself, and had quite a challenging journey.
Shpresa was the only family for me, they supported me to get my right to stay in the UK, which granted me the right to live , study, graduate and work in the UK.
From a user of Shpresa, I became a volunteer, helping and contributing on various projects over 7 years, and now I’m in the board of trustees at Shpresa.
Because of Shpresa, my life changed and I’m grateful to them.
Like everyone at Shpresa, I’m trying to spread the word, and get people to support this campaign. We all want to help Luljeta, and walk with her to achieve the goal.
Shpresa means Hope, and I’m hoping to get as many of you to join me on this cause, please, in whatever way you can… either join me for a walk to raise money, or make a personal donation, it would mean a lot to Shpresa, the community and people whose lives were saved because of Shpresa.
Many thanks in advance,
Elona
