We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

Did you know over 800,000 people are living with dementia? And this is expecited to rise to over 1 million by 2021.

I am raising both money & awareness for the Alzheimer's Society by doing a 6 day trek of the Great Wall of China because as a Care & Support worker for the elderly I have seen first hand the devastating effects dementia can have on both the person and their families.

One of those families being my own after my uncle was diagnosed with dementia several years ago.

As it stands there is no cure for dementia, meaning someone who is in otherwise good health could suffer for years.

The Alzheimers Society 'support people to live well with dementia today and fund research to find a cure for tomorrow'. They provide support to over 30,000 people with dementia, their carers and families every week. They also campaign to influence government policy, raise awareness & understanding of dementia and fund research into the cause, cure & care of dementia.

My target for this trek is to raise awareness and a minimum target of £3100 in sponsorship. Reaching this target will allow 100 people suffering with dementia & their carers to enjoy a Singing for the Brain session.

Please give generously to support this cause, every little helps.

Thank you in advance.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
