Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page :) I am so excited to be running the London Marathon 2024 in support of #TeamRNID!

As someone who lives with hearing loss, I am thrilled to be participating in the London Marathon 2024 to support #TeamRNID! 

At the age of 5, I was diagnosed with glue ear, which led to a series of challenges. Despite undergoing three rounds of grommets, my condition was initially misdiagnosed. Eventually, I was diagnosed with cholesteatoma, a condition involving abnormal skin growth behind the eardrum. This diagnosis marked the beginning of a difficult journey. I have undergone over 20 operations to address the cholesteatoma and its consequences. Unfortunately, the damage caused by cholesteatoma has left me living with hearing loss. Despite these obstacles, I remain resilient and determined to navigate life to the fullest extent possible.

Hearing loss, deafness, and tinnitus have a profound impact on various aspects of life, affecting approximately 1 in 5 adults. Unfortunately, there remains a lingering stigma associated with deafness and hearing loss.

That's why RNID exists - to make life more inclusive for the 12 million individuals facing these challenges. By sponsoring me, you'll be donating to RNID, enabling them to provide vital information and support to those affected by hearing loss.
