Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

I have decided to complete a Tandem Sky Dive CRY in memory of Paul on 26th June 2010 at Durham Airfield. All funds raised will go to CRY. I will have the support of John Tolchard who has kindly agreed to complete the jump with me and all money he raises will go to CRY as well.

I need to raise a minimum of £500.00 but I am hoping to acheive more than this, so as much money can go to CRY as possible.

CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) is a fantastic charity and is extremely close to not only my heart, but to all of Paul's family and friends.

Paul died suddenly on November 13th 2005 from a heart defect known as ARVC. This was a a heart felt shock to all who knew Paul as he was a young, fit, healthy footballer who had played football for many years.

CRY has gave both myself and Paul's family great support since his death and both of Paul's brothers were tested as part of CRY'S screening programme. They were both found to have the same heart defect as Paul and were fitted with defibrilators to ensure should their heart stop beating the defibrilators will "kick start" their hearts.

Paul was not so lucky and we all wish each day that passes that had we known about his silent condition he could have been saved too.

Thats why I am raising this money for CRY, as with all your support and donations they will continue to do an excellent job of saving people's lives, supporting those families who have lost a very special person in their life, and to raise awareness of Cardiac Risks in the Young in the media nationally.

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.
