We support people across Scotland to have better mental health and wellbeing.

Story

On the 30th of July this year, my much loved nephew Sean would have been celebrating his 21st Birthday. Whilst I am sure he will be doing something in his own heavenly way, I wanted to do something that could forever be remembered.

On the 28th of July, the weekend of his big birthday, a group of his family and friends will be taking part in the biggest mental and  physical challenge any of us could ever imagine! 9 of us are going to take part in the National 3 peak challenge and attempt to complete all 3 within 24hours. We also have another group joining, over 25 in total, for the final stage and climbing Ben Nevis.

We will be reversing the typical route and will start at the foot of Snowden Friday afternoon, before moving onto Scarfell, then finishing on his home soil 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and completing Ben Nevis by Saturday afternoon.

In honour of Sean’s memory, and the hope we can help other young people who are going through what he did, we will be raising money to support SAMH who provide critical services to young people’s mental health in Scotland. Here is a few reasons why:-

  • Over 40% of men won’t talk about their mental health .
  • Three quarters of all UK suicides are male.
  • Almost a quarter of people will wait more than 12 weeks to start any form of mental health treatment through their GP
  • In Scotland, 1 in 4 young people have been previously turned away for help from specialist mental health services

So wish us well, donate what you can and cheer us all across the finishing line - we will need it!

Much love

Emma
