Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page;
this last year and a half has been a milestone for me I've lost 3 stone and found a new love for fitness including running! I wouldn't even run for a bus a while ago let alone a Marathon!
I have a number of events coming up, 5k Mud Monster in October, Brooks 10k in November (want to aim for under and hour), Brighton Half Marathon in Feburary and the Brighton Marathon in April - as well as the training and park runs I am going to the gym 3 times a week to build my core strength and stamina!
This is my biggest challenge yet -I'm sure i'll set some other crazy thing to do next year but for now am happy woth this!
This is why I am fundraising for The Disabilites Trust, not only as I work here but I know the work they do is so valuable to people with disabilites and ALL the fundraised money goes to a specific service / appeal!!
I am supporting the ConnectAbility Appeal
Can you imagine a world where you couldn’t
do any of these things without relying on somebody else? This is a
reality that those we support face everyday and we want to do something
about it.
Through our ConnectAbility appeal, we plan
to raise £250,000 over three years to purchase assistive technology
communications equipment for those we support, and people in the
community who have complex, high dependency and multiple disabilities.
The ability to use assistive technology for
communication has already been life-changing for many people supported
by The Disabilities Trust; encouraging individuals to live as
independently as possible and maximising their ability to make choices
and communicate.
