Story
I'm asking friends to join me for a local version of the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on 7 Sept 2019 as the final walk of my training for the real thing two weeks later.
While enjoying the scenery and benefiting from the exercise I am raising money for two good causes: the St. George's Cardio Rehab team (who have looked after my dear friend Sels after her heart attack) and Amanda's Appeal (supporting immunotherapy treatment for a very rare form of cancer).
Often women don't realise that they are at risk of heart disease, and are less likely to recognise the symptoms which means they can delay getting help. Symptoms can be crushing chest pain, pain anywhere in the upper body, feeling sick, sweaty, light-headed or short of breath, sudden intense feelings of anxiety and coughing or wheezing. Physical activity is one way of reducing the risk of developing heart disease.
I have moved from a crowdfunding page to this team page so that sponsors are given the option to add Gift Aid to donations. If you are a UK taxpayer, the value of your gift can be increased by 25% under the Gift Aid scheme at no extra cost to the donor.
