Following the success of the last two years’ cycle challenges, raising some £10,000 for local charities, the Lloyds TSB Commercial cycle team will be undertaking their most gruelling event yet, a ride of 1250km in just over 4 days in September.  The team, comprising David Knight, Mark Siebenmann, David Hawkins and Tim Straker, will cycle in relay format from , through into and then , following the River Rhine down to Freiburg, before heading west into across the Vosges mountains to finish at .

The event has deliberately been made more challenging in an effort to raise over £4,000 towards cancer research in memory of our much loved and respected friend and colleague, Jane Shenton, who worked at the Poole Commercial office.  Jane died from cancer in April 2010, shortly before her 47^th birthday.  All monies raised will be donated to Cancer Research in her memory.

The ride will be more demanding than 2009 and will present a variety of new challenges.  What will spur us on will be the support of our families, friends and colleagues and the goal of raising funds for such a worthwhile and personal cause.
