Story

On the 26th of June, a crack team of unfit SAS and adventure types made up of Crosley Stokes, Jon Milner, Martyn Jackson, Jenny Thomson, Gordon Sheffield, Emine Guler, Paul Young (Not the singer), Laurence Taylor, Jonathan, Jo-anne, Alicja Figiel, Ric and pros from The Castle climbing center led by Super Ben, are to take part in the Everest challenge.

The team have taken time out of their busy World cup schedule of watching and drinking, to climb the height of Mount Everest, from base camp to the summit, relay style and against the clock. That’s 11,428 feet at the Westway Climbing Centre meaning, split between the team, we will be climbing over 1000ft each, over 6 times the height of Coleman Street. No biting wind, no sub zero temperatures, no sherpas, no touching the void but still a mammoth task.

The money raised will go to "The Friends of Westway" Bursary Scheme, run by the Westway Development Trust to allow children from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to get sports coaching at the centre.
