RBC Race for the Kids 2019 · 12 October 2019 ·

We need everyone to race for the kids. Run, jog, walk or wheel our 5k family fun run and give seriously ill children at Great Ormond Street Hospital the chance of a better future.

Story

I will be running with more than 50 classmates from UCS in the 10th anniversary Race For The Kids 5k family fun run, taking place in Hyde Park on October 12th. The boys & I are raising money for two extraordinary charities: Great Ormond Street Hospital - where everyday 619 children with complex illnesses arrive from across the UK for life-changing treatments, and for Grief Encounter - which supports bereaved children and their families to help alleviate the pain caused by the death of someone close.

What began as a handful of Year 6 JB leavers in need of something constructive to do after a fun-packed summer term, has expanded to include new UCS Year 7 boys and students from other years. They have done a fantastic job at fundraising so far, reaching the remarkable total of £42,500 against a target of £50,000.

After the run, we will be visiting Great Ormond Street Hospital where we will present our fundraising cheque and find out more about the crucial work that the hospital and Grief Encounter offer at the most challenging times in young people's lives.
