Story

Run, Mr Firth, Run!

In 2019 I was granted, on an Oxfam charity place, a spot in the London Marathon! Then a little something, that you may have noticed, called a GLOBAL PANDEMIC happened! And alas, it was postponed.

Prior to that time I had managed to raise £2,631 for Oxfam by fundraising in the school I teach at and auctioning off signed football shirts.

Woah, Jord! That's loads! What're you asking us to donate now for!? Well, that was 18 months ago. And the pandemic impacted charities massively. It was estimated that in a 6 month period in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, charities lost £6.4billion in revenue.

The pandemic hit vulnerable people hard. Then it hit charities that helped vulnerable people hard. Making the already vulnerable even more vulnerable

It's been tough emotionally and financially for many us. I know that. From losing jobs to being put furlough I understand the challenges that many people have faced so any donation to this page is hugely, hugely appreciated.

I'm running for Oxfam - a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn't inevitable. I had committed to raising £2000 for the charity, I'd managed to raise £2,631 so far so I've set this page to £369 to try and round that up to £3000!

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me through this. Whether it's just a 'like' of a long run I may have posted on Instagram, to just asking me how my training is going, I really really appreciate everyone's support.

I'll try not to let you down.

Jordan.
