On Saturday 2nd October, 25 brave souls will climb Mount Snowdon, Britain’s highest peak south of the Scottish Highlands. Located in North Wales it is approximately 3,560 ft above sea level. We are doing this to raise money for the Pakistan Floods Appeal, headed by The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The challenge ahead should not be underestimated; we are hardly the most adventurous bunch of people, and lets face it could be in better shape. There are many treacherous routes with steep drops and loose footing, not to mention changeable weather conditions. Snowdon has one of the wettest climates in Britain and it is not uncommon for some snow to fall from October onwards.

But such weather is nothing compared to the monsoon rains, causing extensive flooding throughout Pakistan, killing thousands of people and creating widespread damage. Around 14 million people have been affected and around 900,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed. Something needs to be done.

Which is why the Snowdon 25 will undertake and succeed in conquering the mountain, but only if Ruhma leaves her Pink trainers at home, they are a crime to fashion never mind to safety!  None of us have climbing experience, but we are happy to put that to one side because we all share the same goal; to help the Pakistan relief effort.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement has reached around 300,000 people since the floods hit and in the coming months plans to distribute urgent relief items to around 2.1 million people. But they can only do it with our help. We are doing our part, and hope you will support us to make sure our Mount Snowdon trek is the success we hope it will be.

Please dig deep and sponsor us...Your contribution will go a long way to help save thousands of lives.

A city firm has also promised to match the amount we raise. Hitting the £10,000 target will mean £20,000 will go towards those in desperate need in Pakistan. Let's maximise this opportunity.
