We support people, young and old to cope with cancer and other illnesses

Story

We all know someone who has been affected by cancer. It is a horrible illness and has claimed many lives. In Tamworth we are fortunate enough to have a fantastic support centre, which gives people with cancer and their relatives someone to talk to and somewhere to go.

On October 24, Breast Cancer Campaign is holding its annual national wear it pink day, inviting people to wear something pink to school, work, mums and tots group or even round the house, in return for a donation.

In conjunction with Breast Cancer Campaign and the Sharon Fox Cancer Centre, I am encouraging people to sign up to the event and to split the proceeds between both charities.

This means some of your money will go into the national research pot, but the other half will go directly towards treatments, counselling and services provided on the doorstep to your mum, granddad, sister, friend or work colleague.

All you have to do is convince everyone at your place of work, school, community group or friends circle etc to wear pink, or an item of pink, on October 24 in return for a donation to both charities (minimum suggested donation £1 - or 50p each).

PLEASE VISIT THE WEAR IT PINK ON FOXY FRIDAY TEAM PAGE BELOW TO MAKE YOUR DONATIONS TO BOTH CHARITIES.

Wouldn't it be great if we were all walking around Tamworth dressed in pink on October 24, united for the same causes? You could even invite your friends to a 'pink party'.

Whatever you do, dare to wear pink!
