A heavily pregnant woman comes to the office, having just been evicted from her friend's house, she has no support. 

Hassan, deported to Baghdad could not be returned and was brought back to the UK, leaving him desitute. Mohammed has severe mental health problems and sleeps on a friend's sofa. He has no money to buy food.

Maria speaks no English but urgently needs to see her solicitor in London to make a fresh claim. She has been without support for several months.

On a typical day at Refugee Action we might well see any of these people.

 

On the 30th May, Frank will be single-handedly running the Plymouth Half Marathon - 13 miles of gruelling track winding through Plymouth.

He will be undertaking this feat to raise £1,000 for the Destitution Fund for Plymouth Refugee Action. Our clients find themselves without support (accommodation & money) for a variety of reasons. All monies raised will go towards buying food, emergency shelter, medication and transport costs for those who find themselves in desperate need.

A small donation will make a big difference to people, who have fled some of the world's worst regimes.

£5 will buy basic food to sustain a destitute client for a day

£10 will buy a sleeping bag for a client who sleeps rough

£25 will buy one night’s emergency hostel accommodation

 

£35 will buy a return ticket to a solicitor in Bristol
