Story
After a fall in the Alps in the summer of 2023 I am planning my slow return to the mountains. Ben Nevis in April, and then the Mont Blanc massif in June / July. I cannot make you any promises as to which peaks I will manage, because it will all depend on the condition of my right foot in particular. Although it has recovered significantly, it is still regularly painful, not as stable and flexible as it used to be, and I need to exercise it daily to prevent it from getting stiff and immobile. I hope that nevertheless you would find my endeavours worth giving something to the Tendi Sherpa Foundation.
The Tendi Sherpa Foundation supports remote communities in Nepal where aid from other charitable bodies and the Nepalese Government is minimal or non-existent. They focus on building schools, medical clinics and bridges to enable safe travel as well as other projects to improve living conditions. I support the wishes of Tendi to prioritise the education of orphan children, children from destitute families and older children who have not have the opportunity to go to school due to lack of financial support. I want to ask for your donations to this foundation. Perhaps as a one off to support their good work with the remote, disadvantaged and vulnerable communities of Nepal. But perhaps you would also want to give me that little extra push up the mountain, by letting me know you will donate when I reach a summit. I will let you know well in advance where I am going and afterwards I will report back here.
