Event: GOSHCC Inca Trail Trek 2010, on 13 November 2010
We help the hospital offer a better future to seriously ill children across the UK

Story

Okay so three years on and I have decided to set off on another challenge, this time in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Running the London Marathon 3 years ago was an incredible experience and on that occasion I managed to raise just over £3000.

This time I am looking to reach my target of £2950, and if possible smash it, as this target is really just a drop in the ocean for the millions that GOSH needs each year to save childrens lives. Having now visited the hospital and being in contact with some of the patients and their parents I am more determined than ever to completete something special.

This is why I have decided to test my endurance by going to Peru to comple a 10 day trek through the Ancient Inca Trail in November.

Apparently when we reach 4200m we reach a place called Dead Women's Pass and could be camping there for the night at very high altitude. For those of you who know me I like to rearrange meetings on the 9th floor of the Disney Building as I get slightly giddy. We will be trekking over some very dodgy terrain and facing all different temperatures, climates and wildlife en route.

I am taking this very seriously and will be training very hard and running multiple fund raising events throughout the year. I would be enormously grateful for any kind of donation as I have to fund this trip alone but feel the cause that I am supporting is extremely worthwile.

Below are some ways in which your donations can help the charity;

£25 could buy a toy specially designed for someone with special needs

£60 could purchase a machine to measure growth in babies

£71 could buy a pain relief machine

£125 could house a parent with their child for one week

£1650 could buy an oximeter to monitor oxygen levels in the blood

I am not here asking you all to donate an oximeter each but any little donation will help. Every time I see one of these children or hear a story from a parent it breaks my heart to think that could be my little boy. This is another driving force behind my desire to raise this money knowing that if any of us ever need to get the best treatment for one of our kids we have all done our bit to try and help save children's lives.

Thanks in advance,

Frankie
