We support disadvantaged 11-30 year olds to get their lives on track.

Story

With only a few weeks to go... October 17th... lets hit the mark and raise more than the minimum...

Over 6 days, our team of 6 will climb Mount Kinabalu, South East Asia’s highest mountain peaking at 4,095m; bike over mountain passes for up to 54km a day, through dense rainforest and remote villages; and raft raging rapids on jungle rivers.

Not only is this going to be a massive challenge physically, my team mates and I have committed to raise a minimum of £3,450 each for the Princes Trust.

Due to one of the team (Sally) not being able to continue on the challenge, I have agreed to step in at short notice and raise the remainder of the balance. See updates below

The Challenge:

Dates: 17th - 26th October 2009

Location: Borneo, Malaysia

Disciplines: Biking, hiking and rafting

Physical activity: 6 days up to ten hours per day

The Princes Trust:

Founded in 1976, the trust has become the UK’s leading youth charity, improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK. It offers a range of opportunities including training, personal development, business start up support, mentoring and advice. Around one in five young people in the UK are not in work, education or training. Youth unemployment costs the UK economy £10 million a day in lost productivity, while youth crime costs £1 billion every year. The Princes Trust addresses this by giving practical and financial support to the young people who need it most, helping to develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling young people to move into work, education or training.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! Please sponsor me now and good luck!

UPDATES:

20090707 - Sally Simons who has had to resign from the challenge kindly gave me her total sponsorship after making contact with everyone she knew who had donated. They all agreed to keep the sponsorship valid as it is a great cause. The total transferred is £942.31 (including Gift aid) which is a fantastic start to the overall total. Many thanks Sally.

20090803 - Today sees the upload of a fundraising event at Armogeddon 4 this year for paintballers. A total of £170 was raised and kindly Mike Carver uploaded the lot and Gift aided it all. Also today with a personal donation again from myself, wife and kids - I hit the first financial target - £2450(inc gift aid) so I am still in the programme.

20090930 - Only 2 weeks to go... I now have all my kit - I am a bit short of the minimum target but that is NOT going to stop me... Had all the vaccinations... ready and raring to go...
