AJ and Laura from Global Event Services have decided to complete a new and exciting challenge....To climb Mount Kilimanjaro!  And we're doing it for charity !

Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest freestanding mountain in the world and measures a huge 19,341 feet / 5895 Meters & average temperatures of -18 deg Celsius. But, before we get to the top we need to walk some 63 miles/100 km's UPHILL... and then come back down.  All up, that's the same as walking from London to Birmingham or Brisbane to Byron Bay (But don't forget its uphill!), or as long as 493 Empire State Buildings lying down, 15 545 London Buses end on end, ... or if we were into Domino's it'd be over 4 million Dominos one after the other !!!  PLEASE WATCH OUR VIDEO TO SEE WHAT WE'RE IN FOR...

Our challenge will begin on 2nd March 2010 when we touch down in Tanzania and our aim for doing this is not only for self achievement but to also raise money for a good cause.....and that's where you guys come in!!

We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for a registered charity called 'Casa Reom'.  Donations can be made here on the Just Giving website, and all donations of £25 or above will go into a raffle draw for some great prizes which include weekend breaks for 2 people on a bed and breakfast basis at Marriott and Devere hotels in the UK. (More details to come.) We're also open to consider doing 'challenges' for donations of £50 or above... and before you get too crazy, it's too cold to get nude at the summit.... we already checked!

Casa Reom is an organisation for helping street children in Beira, Mozambique.

In 1989, 5 missionaries started a refuge at a building in Beira and called it 'Casa Reom' (which means 'House of the Good Shepherd'), and offered food and beds to the many street children orphaned by the civil war. The good work of Casa Reom is still current today and every penny donated will help make the lives of these small children in Mozambique better by providing them with a warm, loving home and education...things that we take for granted.
