Holocaust Survivors Centre (Jewish Care)
The Holocaust Survivors' Centre and Shalvata provide a therapeutic service for Jewish survivors of the Nazi atrocity in Europe during World War II, or who came to this country as refugees after November 1938 and on the Kindertransporte.
The Holocaust Survivors' Centre is open 6 days a week to offer a programme designed to offer relief from their traumatic memories. Members also enjoy a wonderful freshly cooked lunch.
The specialist workers in Shalvata offer practical and emotional support related to past trauma and current difficulties. We record testimonies and link survivors to schools to speak about their experiences. We work with more recent trauma experienced by refugees from Yugoslavia,
The Centre is used internationally by professionals working with the aftermath of war and to offer training to a wide range of organisations as well as supervision of acaedemic researchers in this field.
Thank you so much.
