I know from past experience that running the marathon hurts and so I wanted to make sure if I was going to lose my toenails I may as well do it for a brilliant cause - I couldn't think of a better one than Barnardo's.

They work so hard with disadvantaged children to try and make their lives better and to help them fulfil their potential yet it seems to me that their work often goes unnoticed and under appreciated.

My dad volunteers to help them and he often tells me some incredibly moving stories about both the kids and those who work to help them.  I'm proud if I can do my bit too.
