Story

I'll keep it simple - if you're reading this then you probably know that my daughter Evie has a very rare condition called Williams Syndrome, which affects 1 in 25,000 people.  It creates learning difficulties, lack of co-ordination, muscle weakness, heart defects and occasional kidney damage, and normal development is generally delayed.

The Williams Syndrome Foundation funds research projects and runs family support programmes for those with Williams across the UK.  My wife Liz and I are the Regional Coordinators for the East & West Midlands areas so the charity means a lot to us.

Myself and Rob Ridgway will be putting ourselves through the pain of the Birmingham Half Marathon on the 11th October - it's not too late to sign up yourself.........but the easier option is just to sponsor us and take it easy !  Since Evie was diagnosed two years ago I've raised nearly £8000 and I desperately want to raise more - the Williams Syndrome Foundation is a small charity and needs every penny it can get.

If you are able to sponsor us - your support is really appreciated.  Cheers, Gareth & Rob.

About the charity

The Williams Syndrome Foundation was formed in 1980 and is run by parents for parents of children with this rare condition which causes heart and kidney problems and learning difficulties. It desperately needs funds to finance its ambitious research and family support programmes which include national conventions and regional meetings.
