As you will know by now, I am taking the plunge and running three miles this Sunday, raising money for A Voice for Moldova, which is a charity close to my heart having travelled to the former Russian republic in 2008. The charity donates money to the Hippocrates, which was set up by comedian Tony Hawks after his trip to Europe's poorest country.

Anyone who knows me will be well aware that running three miles will be a tough challenge but I feel it's worth it for such a good cause.

 

About the charity:

ChildAid to Russia & Republics and A Voice for Moldova support a Moldovan care centre called Hippocrates. Hippocrates provides free therapy to disabled children who, due to their parent's extreme poverty, would otherwise receive no treatment due to the severely under funded health service of this desperately poor nation. ChildAid also works with several other partners in Moldova, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus transforming the lives of street children, orphans and children with disabilities through long term development aid.
