On Friday 17th July 2020, Gavin Thomas Fox lost his fight against MND at the young age of 36. 

After being diagnosed in November 2018, Gavin bravely fought this awful disease with such grace and dignity despite how difficult this must have been for him.

His family and friends were there to support him every step of the way, trying to ensure his spirits were kept high just as they would have been. He was most definitely provided with some entertainment from his niece and nephews (whether he wanted it or not) who loved him very much and who Gavin would have done absolutely anything for. 

Gavin had some of the best carers the family could have ever wished for, from various organisations.  They have ensured he lived as best a life that he could throughout his diagnosis. They have gone over and above with their level of care, gifts, even performing dance routines through windows during lockdown and provided him with a safe place to go where he was guaranteed to receive the care and attention that he deserved - this being at Nightingale House, Wrexham.

Gavin would visit Nightingale House regularly and particularly enjoyed the hydrotherapy pool and music club (singing along to Mr Blue Sky). Gavins love for all of the staff at Nightingale was well known. They didn't just care for Gavin, but they ensured that the family were supported throughout. They gave the family opportunities to create long lasting memories with Gavin as they were able to join him in the hydrotherapy pool which the children thoroughly enjoyed, splashing uncle Gavin! They were able to provide Gavin with fantastic end of life care during his final few hours which we will forever be grateful for. 

Therefore, to enable Nightingale to carry on providing such a unique level of care to patients similar to Gavin and their families, they depend on donations from us. 

So in memory of our Friend, Son, Brother, Grandson, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew... let's dig deep and donate whatever we can to support this fantastic organisation.
