Story

Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to come this far, please read my message below.....

To commemorate the first anniversary of Lance's death I will be undertaking a charity skydive in aid of The British Heart Foundation.

The jump will be taking place at Bridlington Airfield on the weekend of 22nd November 2009, exactly one year to the day that Lance passed away unexpectedly.

Please join me in remembering Lance, a wonderful man, a great friend to many and a beloved husband.

Please do not feel obliged to contribute towards this charity but if you do choose to contribute every penny will be much appreciated by myself and this organisation. I will be funding this event myself so please be assured that all of your contibutions will go directly to the charity.

Thank you, Gayle Pettifer

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Your amazing generosity has forced me to raise the target. Let's reach for the skies! Gayle.

I have just been advised that due to a fire at the jump site in Bridlington my jump has been moved to Brigg Airfield in Lincolnshire and will be taking place on 21/11/09. Hope it's not a bad omen! Gayle.

I'm being greedy and have raised the target again! I've been blown away by everyones kindness and all your good wishes. A huge thank you from me and from Lance who, although he hated a fuss, couldn't fail to be pleased. York Press ran an article on my skydive on 01/10/09. I can honestly say I never thought I'd be a page 3 girl! Gayle

The weather conspired against me on jumpday so I have rescheduled for Sunday 29th November. I have had my briefing so I can now just turn up and fall. Watch this space!

Just to keep everyone informed: I still haven't had weather clearance on the days I've been available to jump but have four more days scheduled for the coming week. It's not helping the nerves!

Good news at last. I finally made the jump on Friday 4th December. An awesome experience that will live with me for ever. Don't think I'll ever come down from Cloud 12! A huge thank you for your donations and support and a wonderful way to honour Lance's memory. God Bless Baby, I love you.
