Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page for the Isle Of Wight Challenge - a team event of an 18 mile Bike ride, followed by 3 miles in an open Canadian 3 man kayak, finishing with an 8 mile run... Here's how we got here...
Steve (Little Chef) Wearn has wanted to take on this challenge since an ex Genetix FD Gary Corsi took part some years ago... So he went about convincing first Simon (Big Chef) Chase and then Graham (Not a Chef) Chumley to join him to make up the numbers for the three man team that would become Gwease Wightning.
Unfortunatley this presented a problem for Graham who was training for a 1/2 marathon with Steve Forrest to take place around the same time. When Steve heard Graham was pulling out of the timid 13 mile jog round the New Forest for something more challenging on the Wight Isle there was only one thing for it... Steve pulled out too. So Steve (good at running) Forest found two more willing members in Rich (good on the pedals) Barnfield & Rich (good at hockey?) Maclennan and formed the BAMFs to take on Gwease Wightning head to head!
So there you go, 6 men, two teams, one challenge, & 29 miles.
