Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’ve always considered myself to be a positive guy, but when I was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumour in January of this year, I’m not ashamed to admit I was scared.

After surgery to remove the tumour, I underwent a course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy over six gruelling weeks. Although it was hard, the thought of ringing the bell at the end of it kept me going.

Ringing the bell was one of the proudest moments of my life and I may never have experienced it if I didn’t have support. One amazing charity came to my attention during my treatment:

Daft As A Brush, who transported me to and from each of my appointments, putting me at ease at a time I really needed it.

Now I feel it is time for me to give something back to this amazing charity that give so much to others in my position.

I’ve had the unwavering support of my friends and my amazing fiancée Hollie since I was diagnosed and I’m so grateful they are still with me as George Elliott’s Fundraising Army.

A fantastic team of volunteers has come up with a wide range of fundraising suggestions, as well as, selflessly donating up goods and services for free, to raffle off.

But, this fundraising page is not about me, it’s about the charity that helped me get through the treatment. Daft As A Brush took me to and from each of my appointments, putting me at ease at a time when I was at my most nervous.

I want to help Daft As A Brush to continue to provide their indispensable transport services for cancer patients, but I’m going to need help from you to do that.

If you can donate anything from just  a few pounds that would be amazing - every little bit helps. But, if you think you could do more, by hosting your own sponsored event or raffle for George’s Fundraising Army, that would be amazing. You can donate the proceeds here and every single penny will go to Daft As A Brush.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the cHarity.
