Story
El and I just wanted to say another big thank you to everyone who made a donation to this page and helped me reach an incredible total so far. The big day is this Sunday and I really can't wait to start. As usual, nothing ever goes to plan and I picked up an injury to my right leg during my final training run last week. Hopefully it won't affect my run too much and I can finish on two legs rather than on all fours!!
Thank you all again xxxx

A big thankyou to those family and friends who have stood strong with us over the last few weeks. El and I will be eternally grateful. And another massive thankyou for your continuing generosity. It's a remarkable testament to how much our little angel was loved and how many lives he touched. Forever missed, never forgotten.
Training is going well. The old bones really don't like running more than 2 hours so I've taken a week off to rest a few niggles. Got soaked last Sunday morning, but at least I avoided the usual army of dogs that keep cutting across my path to sniff each other's backsides or to feed on my ankles !!!

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who has given us their support and best wishes during the last few months. Most of you already know the story about Sol. Our lovely boy was born on the 14 July 2000 with a heart defect which required an operation at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) four hours after birth, when he was also fitted with a pacemaker. Sol has visited GOSH all his life for regular check-ups and battery changes to his pacemaker. On 8 July last year, Sol was admitted to Barnet Hospital with heart failure and was transferred to GOSH on the 11 July. His only option was a heart transplant, which was performed on 15 September.
Throughout the last few months, Sol showed tremendous spirit and courage as he fought to recover. He never complained about his situation and during the last couple of months was back to his cheeky self. He made so many friends among the nurses, who grew to adore him. He finally lost his battle on the Saturday 4th February. His passing has left a hole that will never be filled, but we are so blessed to have known and loved him over the last 11 years. No parents could be prouder of their son.
