Story

Having spent the last year and a half not feeling quite right and under going lots of tests and procedures I finally got a diagnosis earlier this year of Essential Thrombocythemia, a slow growing blood cancer. With this diagnosis I went on to have a bone marrow biopsy and got the reassurance that there is no cancer in my bone marrow which was obviously great news! :)

However it took me weeks to get my head around what I had and to understand any of what I was reading about it on various sites on the internet until I came across the MPD website. The information on the website is so helpful and covers a whole range of thoughts and feelings you might be having about your diagnosis.

I figured I can't be the only person out there, with this diagnosis, that is struggling to comprehend exactly what it means for my future. So I am choosing to raise money for MPD (soon to be MPN) voice to go towards research, trials and simply to raise awareness of this rare condition .
