Thanks for popping by, many of you will know that I'm Chair of Reading Valley Ladies Circle this year, Circle always do great charity work and to raise loads of money for my chosen charity this year, I've decided to do something amazing.

This trek is for 8 days (plus 2 travelling days) across the Northern part of the Sahara in Morocco.  I'll be walking for 8-10 hours each day across sand dunes with about 10 other people.  We'll be camping each night in the middle of nowhere, this means no toilets, no showers and no phone reception for 8 days!  Now that's got to be worth some money.

I will be training hard for this challenge, every weekend from July onwards I'll be building up my walking from 2 hours to 8 hours both days.  I'm also going on a training weekend climbing Snowdon in September.  I'm taking this really seriously and hope you do too.

This is a once in a lifetime trip, I'm paying for the trip myself, so all your donations will go straight to Thrive.

Thrive are a gardening charity based in Beech Hill (near Mortimer) working with people with disabilities.  They are a small charity so your donation makes a huge difference to them.  £200 will buy them a set of walkie talkies to keep all the therapists in touch when out in the gardens, £300 will buy them a lawn mower, £2000 will help them to finish off their new garden for autistic children.

Thrive have open days throughout the year and if you've never been, it's a lovely day out to see their gardens, hear about the work they do and buy some plants.  Their current open days are:
