In June/July 2010 I will be participating in the Gobi Challenge. This is a 141 mile footrace across the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. I will have to carry all of my equipment for the duration of the event (which will last about 6 days).

Currently I am training for 5 days every week with Monday and Friday being my only rest days. Anyone is free to join me for any of these training runs, I tend to do the longer runs at the weekend (up to 30 miles) and the shorter runs in the week (up to 15 miles).

As a 'warm-up' to this event I will be running in the following events:

Bristol Half Marathon - 6th September 2009 (Completed in a time of 1:59:23; not bad for my first!)

Cardiff Half Marathon - 18th October 2009 (Completed in a very pleasing time of 1:45:06)

Wye Ultra 30 mile Marathon - 7th March 2010 (Completed in 5:20:45 - with full pack)

Jurassic Coast Challenge - 26th - 28th March (I completed three marathons in three days a total of 78.6miles of running - with a full pack and along the Dorset coastal path. Completed in just over 18 hours finishing in a very respectable 85th place)
