Ryan Moore was a much loved member of Gosforth Explorer Scouts who unfortunately passed away in his sleep last year. He suffered from epilepsy which sometimes caused problems for him but despite this he participated in lots of challenging activities including expeditions, camps and bike rides and was always an active member of the Group.

We wanted to remember him by doing something positive. Ryan's friend Callum came up with the idea of a sponsored double Coast to Coast bike ride. We are collecting for Young Epilepsy who help young people like Ryan in lots of different ways.

Over two days teams of Explorer Scouts and Leaders will cycle all or part of the way from Tynemouth to Whitehaven and back again over the Reivers and C2C cycle routes (310 miles). The younger members will stop short at Kielder. Some of the older Explorers and Leaders have already done a single leg of the journey (140 miles) in one day but we do not know if we will complete the whole round trip although we will try our best!
