We are Goughs Solicitors and we are taking part in the Chippenham Dragon Boat Race on Saturday 10th July 2010.

This event is organised by The Rotary Club of Wiltshire Vale and 1/3 of all money raised will go to them to support their choice of charity. This year they have chosen Water Aid.

The remaining 2/3 goes to our choice of charity, which this years is “Fatboys Cancer Charity for Children”

The main thrust of the Charity is to provide Christmas gifts to children who are suffering form potentially life threatening Illnesses. Such a gesture at a special time of year can have an elevating effect on a child, regardless of how ill they may be.

Every day in the UK 5 children are diagnosed as having some form of cancer. Half of these cases affect children under the age of 5. The good news is that almost 70% of these children will survive and go on to lead healthy lives however, after accidents, cancer is still the biggest killer of children in the country.

What Fatboys try and do is bring a little sunshine into the lives of children who are suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses.
