Recently we’ve all felt the effects of isolation. BWBF have long worked hard to reduce the sense of detachment the blind community already acutely feel due to their visual impairment, by providing adapted radios and talking books free of charge. The talking books brought great comfort to Isabel when her sight deteriorated. The services of the BWBF alleviates loneliness and anxiety for many. Usually these devices are delivered by a volunteer who stays with the recipient until they are comfortable using it. Now, unable to offer home visits, BWBF have launched a new service called BWBFConnect, which allows them to keep helping visually impaired people anywhere in the UK, breaking their silence during these lonely times.
