Q: what do I want your money for?
A: I am supporting Help for Heroes by standing on a plinth as part of Anthony Gormley's One and Other Project, whereby a group of randomly picked people spend an hour standing on the empty vacant plinth on Trafalgar Square. The event will be streamed live on the internet and will be Sky Arts 1. You can find our more information about the project here:
http://www.oneandother.co.uk/participants/BigG
I will be asking people to email me as I am sat on the plinth, with the aim of getting over a thousand emails from compete strangers in an hour. Friends, strangers, colleagues, anyone and everyone will be encouraged to email me. Its intended to be a bit silly and a bit fun
And its Saturday Night at 7pm. Thanks for pointing out my ommission Ro!!!!!
Q: So who am I?
A: I am a 36 year old married father of two, with a job and mortgage and no cat. I holiday in France once a year, do family parties and drive a sensible diesel estate. I am more than happy with my lot and cannot complain one bit. However, I also have always had this nagging doubt that I should be doing something different: a gameshow host, presenter on QVC or some sort of lame comedy side kick, but events have never quite worked out. Fundamentally I am a terrible show off, and this looked like a way to have my brief moment in the light before sinking back into provincial anonimity and quite possibly cat ownership
