Have just completed the bike ride - 102 miles and now incredibly tired. Started at 8.30 in the morning on a wet and windy day, which thankfully improved in the afternoon. Visited 25 churches and finally got home at 6pm. Legs aching and very grateful to get off the bike! The last 15 minutes were spent in a tremendous downpour.

Thanks very much to everyone for their support - with the matching from Schroders the total will be around £4,500. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Every year I undertake the 'Ride and Stride' to raise money for two charities. One is to help preserve the historic churches of Hampshire and the other is for our own local parish. Hatherden is a small rural parish which has very limited income but which aims to make annual donations to various local and international charities.

I'll be aiming to cycle between 50 and 70 miles visiting many of the historic churches in the Andover area. However, if I can get at least £1000 in sponsorship I will ensure I cover at least 100 miles (which is a long way for someone with my level of unfitness!). Every pound I raise will be matched by Schroders and the total amount raised will be split equally between the two charities. 

Please give what you can: every penny will help.
