Story

SUFFOLK FA were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Graham Apperley, shortly after the passing of his wife, Maxine Apperley.

Graham, who was 64 and a Level 5 Senior County Referee, appointed match officials to Suffolk FA Sunday County Cup competitions and Suffolk sides playing in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League. He also worked at Ipswich Town FC in a number of security roles.

On behalf of Suffolk FA, Chief Executive Richard Neal said: “We are devastated by Graham’s passing.

“‘Apps’, as we affectionately knew him, was a friend, colleague and member of the Suffolk football family who always undertook his roles with enthusiasm, diligence and good humour.

“On behalf of all at Suffolk FA, our heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with Graham’s family and friends."

The family of Graham and Maxine welcome donations on their behalf to the Suffolk Branch of the RSPCA.
