Story
I always wanted to compete in this fantastic event which the Discovery channel describe as the toughest foot race on earth. Six marathons in six days across the Sahara desert carrying all my provisions in temperatures up to 50 Oc. What's made this harder for me is that in Aug 2015 I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Following an operation I've made a good recovery and I'm now back training hard for this event in April 2016.
I would like to raise some money for St Teresa's Hospice, a local hospice in Darlington. Many of the staff are volunteers and do a remarkable job in supporting the people in their care.
I have funded this event myself, therefore all the money I raise will go to this wonderful charity.
