Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

As I approached the big 40 I looked to do something which would be a bit of a challenge and raise a few quid at the same time. I am by no means a runner(a jogger at best) but did enjoy walking so that is what I opted for. I currently work for Sense Scotland at Touchbase in Glasgow but for several years prior to this worked at the Aveyron Centre in Hamilton (now also a part of Sense Scotland). So my plan was to raise money for both these places and also to keep the 40 theme going. Well would you believe it: the walk from Touchbase to Aveyron and return is 40km in total so hence the name of my sponsored event (40th birthday 40 km walk). See what I did there? Clever or what?

Anyway on the day of my 40th birthday (12th May 2010) I will be setting off on my wee stroll and am looking forward to it (I think). So for your chance to support an auld git and more importantly to give to a very worthy cause please donate what you can either on this website or via the sponsor forms I have dotted about Touchbase and Aveyron.

Many thanks, and for anyone else of a similar vintage remember:

I AM NOT 40 I AM 22 WITH 18 YEARS EXPERIENCE.

Cheers Grant.
