Story

After a few delays our Three Peaks Challenge got off to a start at 5 am on the 4th of August with our first climb, Ben Nevis. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the views from the summit due to the weather at the summit. We managed to complete Ben Nevis in 4 hours and 20 minutes, under the 5 hours we had allowed.  After a longer than expected drive, we began our ascent of Scafell Pike at 4.30 p.m. Once again our views from the summit were hampered, as was our progress down from the summit due to the weather closing in. We still managed to complete the climb in under the 5 hours and below the time expected for the climb. We arrived at the bottom of Snowden at 3.30 a.m. on the 5th of August already behind schedule, and begun our last climb. Due to some confusion in the dark we ended up taking a wrong route, adding an extra 2 hours to the climb. Exhausted, we finished Snowden at 9 a.m. exactly 28 hours after we had begun our ascent of Ben Nevis. We were unfortunately over our 24 hour target but not at all disappointed.

Thankyou to everyone who donated it is greatly appreciated, and also thank you to Larry Hawker for driving.

The three peak challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis in Fort William, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Snowden in North Wales in under 24 hours. The 24 hours includes travelling time between the Mountains, 10 hours is designated to driving leaving 14 hours to scale the 11,128 vertical feet of all three mountains. We are leaving on the 30th of June and travelling to Ben Nevis to start the first ascent. From here we will work are way southwards to Scafell Pike and then Snowden.

The money raised will go to Help for Heroes. A donation of just one or two pounds would be greatly appreciated.
