Story
To all my friends, family and colleagues
As many of you may be aware over the past few months I have been training hard battling the great British weather, frosts, lashing rain and strong winds to take part in the UK’s ultimate cycle challenge from John O’Groats to Lands End. The clock ticks forward and starting on Saturday the 8 of June I will be covering a route of just under 1,000 miles broken down into 9 daily stages averaging 106 miles a day. As many of you know I am never one to shy away from a challenge and as I am not an endurance sportsman this I feel will be one of my biggest to date.
I support a fantastic charity called The Shooting Star Chase, a local children’s hospice service, caring for local families with a child or teenager with a life-limiting condition. They currently help over 600 families living in West London, Surrey and West Sussex. They are available 365 days a year and families receive their support free of charge, in their homes and communities. To provide these vital services they need to find £23,000 a day.
Any donation of any size would be greatly appreciated and as the once great Sir Winston Churchill said “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”
I wish to thank all of you for your support and encouragement on what I am sure will be an unforgettable but challenging experience and for giving generously to a charity that is close to my heart.
