Story
The event was a run, cycle and row from Camp Tombstone in Helmand province, Afghanistan to Weeton Barracks in the UK. This was be conducted by the members of the Operational Mentoring and Liason Team (OMLT), whilst serving on Operation Herrick 11. It will be conducted over the 48 hour period from 23 - 25 Dec 09, covering a distance 5724km. During the event members of the OMLT will continue to carry out their normal duties as well as take part in this very gruelling task. There is no target amount of money to be collected, however as much as you can spare for our mates who have been badly injured during this operation.
As at 0900hrs 25 Dec 09, the team managed to clock up a massive total of 7337kms, which is 1613km over our target. The following personnel achieved the best results in 1 hours exercise:
Running 14.70km CSgt Brian Critchley (2 LANCS).
Rowing 15.65km WO2 Lance Martin (AGC).
Cycle 47.98km Lt Castro (RE).
